Tom Batchelor Joins Plint as Independent Strategic Advisor

Tom Batchelor, former Vice President of Content Operations for Disney EMEA, has joined Plint as an Independent Strategic Advisor, the Göteborg-headquartered media localization technology company announced on LinkedIn.

His engagement brings a buyer-side perspective to Plint as the company scales Strata, the media localization intelligence layer it introduced in April 2026.

Batchelor, who left The Walt Disney Company in July 2025 to establish an independent consultancy, will continue to work with other organisations alongside his role at Plint.

An outside-in adviser for Plint’s next phase

Batchelor’s advisory engagement is a significant move in Plint’s effort to build its proposition “from the outside in,” testing its capabilities against the standards of the buyers it serves rather than the ambitions of the team that built it.

Plint operates at the subtitling, dubbing, voice-over, and media-workflow end of the localisation market, and launched Strata in April 2026, with Plint Sub and Plint SDH as the first products built on the new stack.

Plint describes Strata as building “a complete, structured understanding of source content” before any output is generated, with the products available over API or through Plint Core, the company’s full-service managed localisation platform.

Batchelor’s role is to stress-test the company’s enterprise positioning, sharpen the client-facing proposition, and help Plint’s team navigate the strategic questions that come with rolling out a new technology stack to media buyers.

“Tom brings exactly the perspective we needed. Someone who has spent years on the other side of this conversation, and who asks the questions clients actually ask. We’re delighted to have him alongside us,” said Åsa Zimmerman, CEO, Plint.

The studio operator turned adviser

Batchelor ran Disney’s content operations in EMEA and studio operations across APAC in two tours over 11 years at Disney. He led a 170+ EMEA Distribution Operations team powering the entire Disney content pipeline, including Disney+, Hotstar, broadcast and 3rd party platforms.

Overseeing localisation in one of the most demanding media environments in the global industry, his team managed subtitling, dubbing, and audio description across dozens of languages and tightly coordinated release windows.

The increasing workload of international content delivery has pushed major studios like Disney to retool how they buy and integrate media localisation technology and services. This is this critical buyer-side perspective that Batchelor brings to Plint.

After leaving Disney in July 2025, Batchelor set up The Batch Collective to independently advise media-side buyers on technology adoption, quality assurance, and enterprise readiness.

He draws on his more than two decades of experience in global media to shape big-picture strategic business plans, steer restructures, oversee complex projects and guide startups with hands-on leadership support and mentorship.

Batchelor joins Plint as it scales Strata across the subtitling and SDH segments where it has historically been strongest, with the company continuing to roll out new products built on the platform and pursue enterprise media-side buyers.

He will continue to work with other organisations, including as a Strategic Advisory Board Member with Adapt Global.
